how it works
step one: tell me about your style
Each hat is custom-built with our customers’ unique style at the forefront of our creations. Our goal when we begin is to have a good understanding of not only your size, but also your color & style preferences.
step two: measurements
Come in to 4 of Heart’s Hat Shop and get a perfect sized custom hat, or use our instructions to measure at home. We are located in Donnelly, Idaho.
step three: choose your color and crown
We offer multiple colors, crease, and brim shape. We offer multiple colors and styling options.
step four: let us work our magic
Custom hats take roughly 4-6 weeks to create, depending on felt stock availability. We never cut corners and we always do everything the old-fashioned way—one step at a time. However, if you need it faster, we can make it happen.

Why beaver felt?
Our hats are made with 100% beaver fur felt, the gold standard in the industry—protecting you from the elements. This material is naturally waterproof, meaning you can wear it and any kind of weather. The fur fiber has a soft touch but a naturally strong composition, allowing your hat to hold its shape and style in heavy rain and snow. The durability of this material lengthens the life of your hat and allows it to be refurbished after years of wear.
hat care
WATER: All of our hats are made with 100% beaver felt—so they are naturally water resistant, but not fully waterproof. Wearing your hat in the rain and snow is okay, but we do not recommend getting your hat soaked or storing it in a place with high condensation risk.
HEAT: Never leave your hat in the hot car or in other overly-hot environments, as it can cause the hat to shrink or become misshapen. When your hat gets wet, do not put it close to a heater or use a hair dryer—both will distort the form of your hat.
STAINS OR DIRT: For small stains or marks on the hat, we suggest using a hat bristle brush.
HANDLING: Handle your hat by the crown with care or by the brim as close to the crown as possible.
STORAGE: Put it in a hatbox, hang it on a hook from the back side of the hat or lay it on a flat surface upside down, resting on the crown. We recommend using a hat jack to maintain the size when not in use
